Popular, creative, talented.

Steve Lacy was born on May 23, 1998 in Compton, California. He started writing music in the mid-to-late 2010s when he was a teenager. He started his career by producing music for the R&B/soul group “The Internet.” His first solo project dropped in February 2017; a demo titled “Steve Lacy’s Demo.” His debut album, “Apollo XXI” was released in May 2019.

You may have heard Lacy’s latest song “Bad Habit” on TikTok. The song was released on June 29, 2022, being his second single from his 2nd studio album “Gemini Rights.” “Bad Habit” became extremely popular after its release, which prompted social media users to dive deeper into his other music.

“haven’t stopped listening to this since it dropped!” says Instagram user @ruthnostalgia.

While Steve’s newer music is currently gaining the most attention, his older work deserves more appreciation. Another song of his that got semi-popular is “Infrunami,” which was released as a part of his collection of singles back in December 2020. While the title of the song is seemingly difficult to say, it’s actually pronounced: “in front of me.”

TikTok user @wholelottaredflag says “I LOVE YOU.”

Steve’s newest album shows him primarily singing, but Steve can do more than sing. He’s also a talented rapper, guitarist, and keyboard player. Clips of Steve online show him playing a multitude of instruments at his shows, and he displays these talents in his music. Kanye West has even given Steve praise for his musical talents.

“One of the most inspiring people on the planet,” said Kanye.
