Lizard Man in South Carolina

You would think that the supposed sightings of a lizard man roaming around South Carolina and its waters would be disregarded, but you’d be wrong.

A woman exited a church on a normal Sunday in Bishopville, South Carolina, and was understandably startled at the sight of what she thought was a person hobble-running in through a patch of nearby trees. The shock lasted long enough for her to get a grip on her senses — as well as her phone — to snap a picture of what she guessed to be a fast-moving lizard man.

                                                                      The supposed “Lizard Man”.

The woman who took the photograph, identified only as “Sarah from Sumter, South Carolina”,  contacted ABC News 4 WCIV-TV about her “encounter.

“My hand to God, I am not making this up. So excited,” she wrote to the station, explaining how she and another witness saw the lizard man near the Scape Ore Swamp.

Another case of this “Lizard Man” is in SC, after an automobile had a run-in last week with something mysterious in the rural area of the state, the car owners discovered that their vehicle was riddled with what appeared to be teeth marks that went completely through the fender.

It had all the similarities of occurrences in the county that began in 1988.

“I can remember it just like it was yesterday,” former Lee County, S.C., Sheriff Liston Truesdale told The Huffington Post.

“We got a call that something had mauled a car, and whatever it was did a good job on it. We dispatched two deputies to go see what had happened. Then they called me, saying, ‘Sheriff, we’ve never seen anything like this before,’ and you know what? I never have seen anything like that before!”

The 82-year-old retired sheriff Truesdale told the story of a 17-year-old eyewitness who claimed to have a close encounter with the creature in 1988, dubbed locally as Lizard Man. Truesdale added that the young man came from a responsible, respectable family and he even passed a polygraph test.

Nearly 30 years of lizard man sightings have surfaced from the Bishopville-Scape Ore Swamp area.
