ccu defeats army in the first game of the season

Army nearly had the Chants in the first half, but the Coastal Carolina football team came through with the win.

The Coastal Carolina Chanticleers crushed the Army Black Knights with a 38-28 score this past Saturday, September 3rd.

CCU’s quarterback, Grayson McCall, scored 3 touchdowns in the game, contributing to the team’s monumental win. Both teams were tied (14-14) up until the 3rd quarter, when the Chants had a 24-point lead by the end of the game.

“Congratulations on the awesome win!” says Instagram user @matthewagilbert. “#Chantsup!”

The turnout & amount of fans at the game definitely contributed to the team’s victory — 21,000+ people were in attendance at Brooks Stadium — making this the first sold-out game of the season.

“This news is awesome. Love Chanticleer football,” says social media user @nanachants73.

The Chants go back to Brooks Stadium on September 10th, playing the Gardner-Webb Runnin’ Bulldogs at 6:00 PM.

“CHANTS UP!” says school teacher Adam Jones.
