Charli and Heidi D’Amelio join cast of ‘Dancing with the Stars’

Charli D’Amelio has blown up incredibly on social media over the last couple of years, but does that mean she can make it in the real world of entertainment?

Recently, it has made the news that TikTok star Charli D’Amelio and her mother Heidi D’Amelio will be joining the cast for season 31 of Dancing with the Stars.

The D’Amelio family announced this news on “Good Morning America” on Wednesday.

This season is the first season to begin streaming on Disney+ rather than ABC, becoming Disney+ first live series.

Charli says “I thought it was a prank” after getting the call for being cast for the show.

D’Amelio is known for her viral dances to songs on TikTok which gave her the majority of the 146 million followers she has now.

Charli would like people to take her seriously during this show and says she’s “ready to learn ballroom dancing.”

“When it comes to the actual choreography, I would love to maybe do a little nod to why I am even here and what got me here, but I think I’m really going to work on the technical parts of ballroom dance,” she said.

Tyra Banks and Alfonso Ribeiro will host the new season.
Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli, and Derek Hough will judge.
The full cast of celebrities competing will be revealed Thursday on “Good Morning America.”
