The Boys Review

The Boys is one of the best shows I have ever seen, ever.

The boys is a TV-MA dark comedy and action show released on amazon prime in 2019. It’s directed by Eric Kriple and is still going for its fourth season today. It stars many actors including Erin Moriarty, Jack Quaid, Karl Urban, Antony Starr, and in the latest third season of the boys, Jensen Ackles.

The Boys is about this gang of five relatively badass people who try their best to fight against corrupt superheroes. They’re called the boys, and their main target is a very popular group of superheroes called the Seven.

The leader of the Seven is called Homelander. To the people on the outside, Homelander is a humble American superhero. But in reality, he is an insane, narcissistic, and sociopathic manbaby. This is almost all superheroes, hiding behind their masks and parading around as if they were good people.

The superhero team, the Seven, is run by Vought. An equally corrupt superhero company.

The boys are just humans (except for one) and although they really only have the choice to fight fire with fire, they try their best to rid their world of corrupt supes (what they call superheroes.). A lot of stuff happens between the boys and the superheroes, and often, between the boys themselves.

This show is utterly insane, and I love it. It’s hilarious with its dark humor and tasteful with its gore (which it kinda does have a lot of.) The first season is definitely darker than the others, but it’s still unbelievably funny and witty. The plot is heavy and really really good and the actors are super amazing. You can end up either absolutely hating or loving some of the characters, the actors are crazy good.

I cannot express how much I love this show. I would recommend it to everyone (if you don’t mind dark humor and gore). The Boys is so unique and different. It has made me feel so many emotions so strongly, I love it so much.
