Monkey Pox

South Carolina has reported about 80 cases of Monkey Pox as of August 22, 2022. Monkey Pox has been spreading by close contact which is slower than our last big problem, The Corona Virus.

 

The State news page has given out information about Monkey Pox. It has been reporting on how many people have been affected and what monkeypox is.

 

The State news page says, “Monkeypox is similar to the virus that causes smallpox, but is less severe and rarely fatal, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.”

The State news has explained how someone can get MonkeyPox. It has listed the ways in which it spreads.

 

The State news says, “Monkeypox can be transmitted when a person comes into contact with an animal, human, or materials contaminated with the virus.”

 

The State news has gotten information from DHEC on monkeypox. DHEC has listed the symptoms of monkeypox.

 

The DHEC says, “Symptoms of monkeypox primarily present as a rash that looks like pimples or blisters, along with fever, muscle aches, chills, exhaustion, and swollen lymph nodes. Symptoms can last for two to four weeks.”
