Grand Theft Reptiles
Exotic animals usually aren’t legally allowed across country lines, but this man begged to differ!
The U.S. Customs and Border Control caught a man attempting to smuggle 52 lizards and snakes across the US-Mexico border last week.
The man was driving to the San Ysidro border when he was stopped by customs officers. The officers pulled the man out for further inspection and found 43 horned lizards and nine snakes.
U.S. Customs and Border Control say, “[the reptiles] were concealed in the man’s jacket, pant pockets, and groin area.”
Out of the 52 reptiles, many of them were considered endangered species, meaning that their populations are running thin and close to extinction.
Customs and Border protection director, Sydney Aki, says, “Smugglers will try every possible way to try and get their product, or in this case live reptiles, across the border.”
The 30-year-old United States citizen was arrested for his actions.

This is a very strange and crazy story! I don’t even want to know how he was able to get all of those reptiles into his clothes.

This is kind of concerning, honestly, I’m kind of curious how he even fit that many reptiles in his clothes.
