Biden’s State of the Union

Bidens State of the Union

I think that the three most important topics President Biden discussed in last night’s State of the Union address were Ukraine, COVID, and climate crisis.

Biden said, “Six days ago, Russia’s Vladimir Putin sought to shake the foundations of the free world thinking he could make it bend to his menacing ways. But he badly miscalculated. He thought he could roll into Ukraine and the world would roll over. Instead, he met a wall of strength he never imagined. He met the Ukrainian people.”

This is important because what is happening in Ukraine is a tragedy and should be addressed. I agree with the quote because the Ukrainian people have been making the Russian invasion as difficult for the Russian’s as possible, showing great courage and strength.

Biden said, “Thanks to the progress we have made this past year, COVID-19 need no longer control our lives.”

This is important because COVID-19 has been a huge issue for the last 2 years, making things difficult for everyone. I agree with the quote, since everything has died down and COVID is not as big of a problem as it was 2 years ago.

Biden says, “The consensus is if we act, we can save the planet — and we can create millions of jobs and economic growth and opportunity to raise the standard of living for everyone in the world.”

I think this is important because climate change is one of the largest problems that is growing every day, and changing the course of it is important. I agree with the quote because saving the planet is important.
