The three worst things about being in a relationship are having to spend the day with your significant other instead of friends, having to get your significant other a gift, and the cringe factor.

A bad thing about being in a relationship on valentines is not being able to spend it with your friends. Many people throw or go to galentines/palentines parties or events. However, if you’re in a relationship you’re more likely to spend the day with your significant other instead of your friends.

“I would so much rather spend a day with my friends instead of being dragged to a valentines date with some girl,” says Graham Edwards.

Another negative part of being in a relationship on valentine’s day is worrying about a gift. Girls are somewhat picky about what gifts they receive and how much thought is put into them. Guys are just flat-out hard to buy gifts for.

“Girls are too specific about what they want and when they want it. Nothings ever right.” says Jonothan Fullrod.

The final dreadful part about being in a relationship on valentine’s day is having to post something cringey on your social media. When all the couples are posting sappy Instagram stories with their significant other, it makes you feel like you have too. However, this is honestly just cringey and sometimes even repulsive.

“Seeing all of the cringe-worthy social media posts makes me want to vomit. Especially when couples at school are being all lovey dovey.” says single teenage girl, Maddie Stevens.

To summarize, being in a relationship on valentine’s day is very much overrated.
